About Me
Hi, and yes, that fat hamster in a helmet really is me, riding my much-loved Triumph Bobber, captured near Whatstandwell Bridge.
An admittedly expensive set of three photographs was purchased, and this is one of them. Seeing as there aren't many decent photos of me—and this one involves the bike—why not? 😁
Away from the bike, I'm a fan of fantasy and gaming, an amateur Emacs Lisp and Python programmer, and an old-school automation engineer with a background in PLC programming, industrial robotics, instrumentation, controls, and automated manufacturing systems.
I currently work for a Tier One automotive supplier as a Process Engineer/Senior Expert specialising in industrial adhesive bonding and automated assembly processes. My work covers the complete process lifecycle, from early product and process feasibility through equipment specification, development and commissioning, to series-production support and continuous improvement.
A large part of the role involves assessing product designs for manufacturability and bondability, developing robust bonding processes, and ensuring that equipment, automation, material application, surface preparation, process controls, and inspection methods are capable of consistently meeting OEM requirements.
When things don't go according to plan, I also provide technical and problem-solving support—investigating bonding failures, process variation, equipment and automation issues, and generally trying to determine why something that definitely worked yesterday has decided not to work today.
